Holidays made more fun at Met Live

Holidays made more fun at Met Live’Tis the season of merriment, festive parties and heartwarming celebrations once again, and each time, we try to find that perfect place to hold these much awaited traditional gatherings with family and friends.

What’s good though is that we are never left wanting for choice: newly opened malls and events places surprise us with their fresh offerings and innovations, gorgeous interiors and stunning architecture. A curated array of retail, dining and entertainment options; exciting activities for shoppers and guests; and hubs where big groups can celebrate the holiday season will all the more make for a fun, lively destination that will be worth your while.

One such new destination is the Met Live Mall, Federal Land’s latest lifestyle hub in the integrated community of Metro Park in Pasay City.

Located along Macapagal Avenue corner Edsa, the Met Live Mall is an upscale shopping and lifestyle destination that offers an exciting and varied array of chains and specialty stores. With its striking architectural details and five-level parking, Met Live Mall is well on its way to fulfill its goal of being a destination where you can find a fusion of authenticity, relaxation, and indulgence.

A few key restaurants include Nathan’s Famous Frankfurters, Queens At Bollywood Indian Food Resto, Tepanyaki Dynasty International Buffet Restaurant, Tiong Bharu Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice, Kyoto Chaya Japanese Café, Kimono Ken Japanese Restaurant, Mala Sze-Chuan restaurant, Nord’s Bread Hub, and Kenny Rogers. For general needs, there’s Rustan’s Marketplace, Lawson Convenience Store, and My MC Home Depot. Specialty services meanwhile include Cheeky Monkeys Day Care and Playground, Marie France, Pristine Smile Dental, and Hey Internet Cafe PH Gaming/Computer Shop.

Catherine Ko, executive vice president for business management of Federal Land, said Met Live Mall is their first full mall that will allow them to further expand their presence in commercial retail. This will be the first of a series of malls they plan to open within and outside Metro Manila over the next several years.

According to Ko, the Met Live Mall is already 80 percent occupied. Half of their tenants are food and beverage (F&B) shops, while the other half are retail stores.

A four-day celebration marked the official launch of the Met Live Mall, with activities as diverse as its offerings. Called #MetLiveFestival, the launch events were an exciting mix of live band performances, cross-cultural shows, a flash mob, DJ sets, an open mic night, and happy hour booths and activities.

Day 1 of Met Live Mall’s grand official launch featured “Culture Show,” a celebration that began in the morning with a blessing and ribbon-cutting, along with the traditional throwing of coins and a raffle, a flash mob, and brunch in Rustan’s Marketplace.

In the afternoon, a series of spectacular cross-cultural performances capped off the day, featuring traditional African dance from Buganda, a subnational kingdom in Uganda, the Kim Hwa Chinese Music Ensemble, and the Kin Hwa Philippine Wei Guang Dragon and Lion Dance Group.

Day 2 was “Gig Night,” with Indie pop icons as headliners: Ang Bandang Shirley and Oh, Flamingo!, while Day 3 had Saturday Jam and Open Mic night. Culminating the Met Live Mall’s four-day launch festival was “Sunday Lounge”. The DJ set by Pillow Talk complemented the Happy Hour booths and activities showcasing libations like wine, coffee, and water.

Met Live Mall is also a hub of special events, encouraging guests to find their passion here—whether it’s about travel or pets, cars or cycling, or artisanal goods. Apart from specialized merchandise and services, special shows and events here allow people of all ages and backgrounds to meet and bond over shared passions.
