Amid robust demand, the Bureau of the Treasury on Tuesday, Oct. 15, not only disposed of all P20 billion in T-bonds it initially offered but also sold P10 billion more under its tap facility.
The new five-year treasury bonds maturing on Oct. 17, 2024 were sold at a coupon rate of 4.25 percent.
The last time that the Treasury issued five-year debt paper was last February when it sold retail treasury bonds (RTB) having the same maturity period, which fetched a higher rate of 6.25 percent.
