Property giant Megaworld Corp. is opening a 547-room hotel in Mactan, Cebu, next month.
The P1.7-billion 18-story Savoy Hotel Mactan will rise on Megaworld’s 30-hectare The Mactan Newtown project in Lapu-Lapu City. It will be the first hotel within the mixed-use complex, which is located about 15 minutes away from the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
Raymundo Melendres, managing director for Megaworld Hotels, said Savoy Hotel Mactan would mainly target business travelers and family vacationers.
“Its location also allows one to experience the beach and the township at the same time, where restaurants, cafes, supermarket, spa and other retail shops are just within easy reach,” he said.
To be operated by Megaworld Hotels, Savoy Hotel Mactan would be offering complimentary shuttle services to and from Mactan Newtown Beach. Transport services would also be offered to guests traveling to and from Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
The hotel has function and meeting rooms, a Savoy Café for breakfast and all-day dining, Lobby Café, Zabana Bar, Pool Bar and outdoor dining options.
The hotel’s amenities include a swimming pool, paved sunbathing lounge, fitness center, business center and a flower garden.
Megaworld said introductory rates would start at P3,288 to P5,888 per night.
Savoy Hotel Mactan is the third hotel under the Savoy Hotel brand, a homegrown hotel chain established by Megaworld. Savoy Hotels have also opened in Boracay Newcoast and in Newport City, Pasay City.
Megaworld Hotels has already opened four other homegrown brands aside from Savoy: Richmonde Hotels, Belmont Hotels, Twin Lakes Hotel and Hotel Lucky Chinatown, with around 3,200 hotel rooms. In the next five years, the company would also open new homegrown hotel brands in Parañaque, Bacolod, Iloilo, Boracay and Laguna.
