CLARK FREEPORT –– San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president Ramon S. Ang on Wednesday said the groundbreaking and construction of the P735-billion New Manila International Airport in Bulacan province would start by the end of this year.
Ang made the announcement during the contract signing here for the construction of the airport.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade and Ang signed the concession agreement for the airport project at the Department of Transportation office here.
The project will be built on a 2,500-hectare property in Bulakan, Bulacan and is expected to help decongest Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Ang said the project would not only provide convenient travel but would solve the perennial flood problem in Bulacan./lzb
