Globe, Angat Lahat sa Digital Alliance encourage MSMEs to embrace digitalization

For business owners, embracing digital transformation has become the best move forward. Its advantages have helped a wide variety of industries experience endless opportunities, improve transactions, drive profitable business models, and outperform competitors.

Despite its clear benefits, not all firms in the Philippines are ready for digital disruption. Even today, many decision-makers and even corporate leaders still struggle with understanding the tremendous impacts of digitalization.

Recently, the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship (Mr. Joey Concepcion) in partnership with GoNegosyo organized a meet and greet with Globe’s President and CEO, Ernest Cu. The main objective of the said gathering is to provide insights on Globe’s role in guiding the MSMEs towards the digital economy, help strengthen relationships with consumers, and enable digital products and business solutions.

Tackling MSMEs’ challenges

Apart from interested participants, the meeting was also attended by the “Angat Lahat sa Digital” Alliance members. Senior adviser and chair to the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Philippines Josephine Romero, who led last Tuesday’s discussion, believes that digitalization is one way to achieve inclusive growth with MSMEs.

“The ‘Angat Lahat sa Digital’ alliance is one of our initiatives that will hopefully strengthen the collaboration of public and private sector,” Romero said.

In order to foster that collaboration, the first step is making sure that there is adequate support for industries or sectors that were left behind. With that being said, the organization created five working groups that will help address issues in various fields such as transportation, agribusiness, services, and government regulations.

Harnessing the power of digital technology

Embarking on the digital journey will not be possible without the most critical ingredient–and that is connectivity. Globe has always been at the forefront of digitalization and through its MSME arm called Globe myBusiness, the company provides affordable and tailor-fit digital solutions to entrepreneurs to help them grow and succeed. At the same time, Globe myBusiness Academy was created as part of Globe’s mission to inspire, empower, and provide learning for MSMEs all over the country.

Cu believes that micro-entrepreneurs and decision-makers must leverage on digital technology in order to maximize the full potential of their businesses.

At Globe, we continue to maximize the platform, we continue to design digital products and solutions that enable businesses and empower the consumer. Of course, our primary concern is the consumer because that’s the larger market in the Philippines and that’s how Globe made its name,” Cu explained.

Empowering Filipino lives

In this data-driven world, Globe has become one of the most valuable consumer brands in the country–given what they have done over the past 10 years. From acquiring a remarkable partnership track record to succeeding in the customer journey, Globe has been focusing all their efforts, minds, energy and passion for creating a business of possibilities.

Together with the Angat Lahat sa Digital Alliance members, Cu promised that the telco company will continue to uphold their vision.

“Globe has evolved now to this particular goal where we see a Philippines where families’ dreams come true, businesses flourish and the nation is admired.”
