PH promoted as global software and IT gateway of Japan
Philippine software companies are aiming to make the country the “global software and information technology gateway” of Japan, following a successful trade mission earlier this month.
In a statement, the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) said the organization hoped to pursue an estimated $2.5 million worth of prospective contracts, which resulted from the country’s participation in the annual Software Development Expo (Sodec) held in Tokyo.
Sodec is Japan’s largest exhibition featuring a variety of products for development, operation and maintenance of software. A great number of managers in information systems and software development department are expected in this expo every year for networking and business-matching.
Tae Abe-Abion, PSIA head for the Japan market special interest group, noted that the group continued to uphold its mission to “promote the Philippine software industry in Japan through its 2011 theme: Philippines as Global Gateway of Software and IT Services.”
“PSIA is eager to provide reliable and quality software and information technology services to its Japanese partners.”
The Philippine delegation was composed of representatives of eight software companies under PSIA, namely, Advanced World Systems, Alliance Software, Astra (Philippines), J-Span Computing, J-Sys Philippines, Pointwest Technologies, Tsukiden Global Solutions, and Ubiquitous Technologies Philippines.
