Globe Telecom sweeps finance titles at 9th Asian Excellence Awards

Globe Telecom again bagged highly-coveted titles such as Best Investor Relations (IR) Company, Asia’s Best Chief Finance Officer (CFO), and Best IR Professional at the recently-held Asian Excellence Awards, Asia’s biggest IR award-giving body, for its commitment to the highest standards of disclosure, transparency and fairness in disseminating information to its shareholders and stakeholders.

Organized by Hong Kong-based Corporate Governance Asia, the 9th Asian Excellence Awards recognizes companies’ excellence in management acumen, financial performance, corporate social responsibility, environmental practices, and investor relations. Winners came from several countries across the region, including China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Globe CFO and Chief Risk Officer Rizza Maniego-Eala was named one of Asia’s Best CFOs in Investor Relations, while Globe Director for Investor Relations Jose Mari Fajado was recognized among the Best IR Professionals.

“This reaffirms our resolute commitment to a transparent​ ​disclosure regime​ ​and accessibility for all stakeholders for a fair, accurate,​ ​and comprehensive assessment of the company’s financial​ ​performance and prospects.” said Maniego-Eala.

Globe also joined the roster of elite Asian companies for Excellence in Investor Relations. Fajardo, Globe IR Manager Millet San Gabriel, and Globe IR Expert Rasia Tan form the company’s Investor Relations team. It is under the Globe Financial Planning group, which is headed by Carlo Puno and is in charge of upholding investor confidence at the firm.

Aside from winning at the Asian Excellence Awards this year and in prior years (2009 and 2010), Globe Investor Relations team has also garnered similar accolades through the years from various award-giving bodies such as ING Finex, Finance Asia, and the Asset Corporate Awards.
