Top Chinese official checks out Makati subway project

MANILA, Philippines — A delegation of Chinese officials got a closer look at the proposed Makati subway project.

Businessman Antonio Tiu, president of Makati subway developer Philippine Infradev Holdings (formerly IRC), showed a scale model of the proposed underground rail system to the delegation led by Wan Gang, vice chairman of the People’s Political Consultative Conference and chairman of Zigong Party, China’s second biggest political party.

The US$3.6-billion subway project is a public-private partnership between Makati City and a private Chinese consortium led by IRC. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
