In 2016, just when everyone thought there were already enough luxury furniture brands catering to the highly discerning taste of the affluent, a new player had set foot in the Philippine market.
Global Views Philippines opened then its first showroom at Shangri-La at the Fort in the hopes of improving the variation in the furniture retail landscape. Shortly after, it saw an unprecedented growth driven by the solid trust and patronage of the design community, prompting it to open a second showroom at the Ayala Malls Vertis North in less than two years.
“We experienced a lot of challenges during the early stages when we brought Global Views to the Philippines,” said Josephine Lim, president and CEO of Global Views Philippines. “But we were confident that the brand will be loved by those who love beautiful designs with the highest quality.”
Headquartered in Texas, Global Views features more than 5,000 pieces of furniture and home accents by skilled artisans from all over the world—handblown glass from Poland, arresting ceramics from Portugal, textiles from India, and metal crafts from Vietnam.
More than offering mere options, the brand exhibits a thorough understanding of elegance and graceful living as evidenced by the impeccable craftsmanship and detailing of every piece of furniture and furnishing.
“Apart from allowing homeowners to imbue their spaces with the world’s most interesting cultures through design, Global Views also adheres to excellent customer service,” Lim said.
Present during the event were the principal designers of Asuncion-Berenger, Architects Ding Asuncion and Isabel Berenger-Asuncion; PSID faculty Interior Designer Jie Pambid; architects from BUDJI + ROYAL Architecture+Design; and interior designers from WTA Architecture and Design Studio.
Currently on display at the Shangri-La at the Fort and Vertis North showrooms are pieces from three of world-renowned designers who collaborate with Global Views—Julia Buckingham, Barbara Barry and Roger Thomas.
Buckingham’s signature eclectic aesthetic blurs the dimension of time by seamlessly fusing forward sensibilities with ornate qualities of antiques. A curated assemblage of the storied past and the fresh recent, her pieces are given a refined appeal characterized by rarity and timelessness.
Meanwhile, Barry’s strong connection to the natural world gave rise to a new form of simplicity that is a nod to serene and calm living. Her almost spiritual design ethos translates to pieces that serve as a tonic to the almost chaotic contemporary times.
Thomas, for his part, brings a wealth of experience from designing flamboyant interiors of esteemed tourist accommodations in Nevada and China. He further infuses warmth to a space by making it more personal.
