Deloitte, the world’s largest professional services network, wants to hire more than 1,000 workers, mostly IT professionals, in the Philippines in the next few years to cater to company clients in Asia Pacific.
The company formally opened on Thursday Deloitte Consulting Philippines Delivery Center (PDC) Inc., its first global delivery center in Asia Pacific.
Based in the Bonifacio Global City, Deloitte Consulting PDC, an IT firm, will cater to the organization’s clients in the region.
Since its soft opening in February, Deloitte Consulting PDC has about 150 workers, but the number will increase by December this year, officials said in a briefing yesterday.
“There were other countries considered in this region. The factors that held us to land here [included] the talent market,” said Jeff Jordan, Deloitte’s global delivery network leader.
Deloitte said PDC aimed to double its current workforce in a year, and “generate more than 1,000 jobs in the Philippines in the next five years.”
The company partnered with recruitment agencies to look for experienced workers, while also partnering with universities to discover and mentor talented fresh graduates.
Current partners include University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas and iAcademy.
PDC has been registered under the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza).
