‘A taste of Hong Kong’: Honolulu HK Cafe opens branch in Robinsons Place Manila

Baked rice, dumplings, barbecued pork, and the popular “Cha chaan teng” (which literally means “tea restaurant”) beverage have turned Hong Kong’s unique dishes into one of the country’s most favored Asian cuisines. So, it’s no surprise that tea restaurants continue to gain popularity among Filipinos.

And among the many dining establishments which offer delectable Chinese cuisine is the Honolulu HK café. Established in 1940, the store not only features a delightful food menu but also an interior display of oriental wall decorations, classic table setting, and fancy chandeliers.

Last April 2, Honolulu CEO Derrick YEUNG Siu-yip successfully opened their second branch in the Philippines.

YEUNG Siu-yip said that the Filipinos’ love for Chinese food became the main reason why Honolulu was able to open a new branch. He also hinted that the Honolulu Group of Restaurants “will definitely open more stores” in the future.

Located at Robinsons Place Manila, the newly-opened cafe serves its signature egg tart, pork buns and pastries, curry fish balls, noodle soup, and stir-fried noodles. Along with these dishes, they also serve their newest barbecued meat selection–which includes Soy Chicken, Roasted Pork Belly, and Roasted BBQ Pork

The Soy Chicken, in particular, is a must-try when you’re dining in the restaurant. When it comes to the classic Asian chicken recipe, nothing beats the savory taste of Honolulu’s Soy Chicken – which comes in tender and sweet chicken thighs mixed in with steamed rice.

Moreover, the Roasted Pork Belly and Roasted BBQ Pork dishes are flavored with unique herbs and spices that will make you crave for more.

Finally, the restaurant offers a series of delicious beverage blends that include milk tea, coffee, and herbal teas.

The Honolulu HK café is now open at SM Aura Premier at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, and Robinsons Place Manila. For more details, like and follow them on Facebook and Instagram: @honoluluhkcafeph.
