Wellness at the center of it all

Masterplanned communities integrating the live-work-play concept abound in the metro.

After all, who can resist the lure of residing near one’s place of work, especially with the horrendous traffic and insufferable state of public transport that we have in our country?

At the corner of Edsa and Quezon Avenue sits Eton Properties’ Centris, a self-sufficient work district that has become a center of convergence north of Manila. A mixed-use mega complex, it features office spaces, retail stores, restaurants and open spaces for entertainment and other fun activities, all easily accessible via a direct MRT connection.

Centris Cyberpod is composed of five fully-outfitted buildings which house mostly outsourcing companies. Centris Walk, meanwhile, offers a wide variety of dining, shopping and entertainment options.

To ensure the wellness of everyone who goes to Centris for either business or leisure, MediCard Philippines has set up a free-standing clinic here.

“Our goal is to have clinics in areas where we have a high concentration of corporate clients, members and prospective members, such that they can access quality and affordable outpatient medical services near their offices,” said MediCard president Dr. Nicky S. Montoya.

To further its efforts in attending to clients’ healthcare needs, the country’s leading health maintenance organization (HMO) has even extended the clinic hours at MediCard Centris-Edsa. The facility is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Whether you are a MediCard member or not, you can simply drop by the MediCard Centris-Edsa clinic and avail of consultations for cardiology, dental medicine, dermatology, ENT, family medicine, gastroenterology, general practice, general surgery, internal medicine, and nephrology among others.

The clinic also offers dental services such as oral prophylaxis, TMJ consultations, tooth extractions, restorative consultations, temporary filling, dental nutrition and dietary counseling and gum treatment, and adjustment of dentures.

You can also have your X-ray, mammography, ultrasound and 2D-Echo, minor surgery, annual physical exam, medical evaluation and physical therapy here.

MediCard’s doctors are all board-certified, assuring patients they are under expert care.

“Nurses and clinic staff undergo rigid training in patient service,” said Dr. Montoya, who also guaranteed that at their clinics, patients will get the same level of care that they can expect from hospitals, but at a fraction of the cost.

MediCard Centris-Edsa is just one of the numerous free-standing clinics and satellite clinics that the HMO has established all over the country in a commitment to bring quality and affordable healthcare closer to Filipinos. Its other locations include MediCard Lifestyle Center on the corner of Paseo de Roxas and Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati, MediCard McKinley, MediCard Ortigas, MediCard Cebu City, MediCard Festival Supermall and MediCard Uptown Bonifacio.
