National Power Corp. (Napocor) is anticipating the relocation within this year of its main offices to Bulacan as the Napocor complex in Quezon City is slated to start redevelopment as part of nearby business districts.
Napocor president Pio Benavidez said in an interview the state firm would move to San Jose del Monte City where it had a property with existing offices and facilities.
“We may move there this year,” Benavidez said. “The place [in San Jose del Monte] is ready for us.”
Earlier this month, Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. (PSALM) launched a contest—open to local and international architectural firms—for the best and most energy-efficient conceptual designs “that may be the basis of the master planning and design development for the 5.1-hectare property in Diliman.
The property at the corner of Quezon Avenue and BIR Road is “located at the heart of Quezon City’s central business district,” PSALM said in a statement.
In particular, the property is situated in a long stretch of commercial establishments that are adjacent to Centris Walk and Vertis North.
“Due to its strategic location and on-going high-rise development in adjacent properties,
it is considered a prime property with high potential for residential, commercial and mixed-use development,” the state firm said.
The property is currently home to, aside from Napocor, National Transmission Corp. and its concessionaire, National Grid Corp. of the Philippines.
