Manila Water Co. Inc. has secured a P1.5-billion joint venture agreement with Tanauan Water District to provide water supply and sanitation services in that town of Batangas.
Manila Water said in a statement the 25-year contract, which would be managed via subsidiary Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV), involved the design, construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, operation, financing, expansion and management of the water supply and sanitation facilities and services of Tanauan.
MWPV president and chief executive Virgilio C. Rivera Jr. said the venture was intended to increase service coverage by delivering to Tanauan’s 48 barangays as much as 27.5 million liters of water a day by year 2043.
This is the latest in a string of contract wins that Manila Water and MWPV have achieved.
Aside from the main concession covering the east zone of Metro Manila and adjacent provinces, Manila Water is now operating in various towns of Bulacan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Laguna, Cebu, Boracay, Davao and Zamboanga.
Just last week, they announced a deal related to water supply and septage management services for Manaoag in Pangasinan.
Manila Water is committed to deliver 9 million liters of water daily for Manaoag’s 26 barangays.
Also last month, Manila Water also announced its expansion in Laguna with MPWPV and Laguna AAA Laguna AAAWater Corp. widening its service area into Pagsanjan.
