Globe Telecom distributes meal packs to Bicol evacuees hit by ‘Usman’

To help ease the condition of those dislocated by Tropical Depression Usman, Globe Telecom, in partnership with Rise Against Hunger (RAH), has distributed relief packs to 2,226 families staying in evacuation centers around the Bicol region.  

Assorted goods and meal packs were provided to evacuees in Naga National High School (Bagumbayan, Tiwi, Albay), Sagnay Covered Court (Patitinan, Sagnay, Camarines Sur), Buhi Pastoral Parish Center and St. Bridget School (Iraya, Buhi, Camarines Sur), Sogod Elementary School (Sogod, Tiwi, Albay), Bonbon Municipal Hall (Bonbon, Libon, Albay), Nabua Municipal Hall (Poblacion, Nabua, Camarines Sur), and Bula Municipal Hall (Poblacion, Bula, Camarines Sur).

Globe has also set up Libreng Tawag and Charging stations in Sagnay and Buhi Covered Courts in Camarines Sur to assist the residents with their communication needs.

Usman severely hit the Bicol region during the Christmas holidays with Camarines Sur and Albay placed under a State of Calamity due to severe flooding, landslides and several infrastructure damage caused by the heavy rains.
