MRC Allied to build P67-M solar rooftop for Mindanao mall
MRC Allied Inc. (MRC) continues to broaden its portfolio of solar projects after signing a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with a mall operator in Mindanao for a P67-million 1.1-megawatt solar photovoltaic rooftop system.
In a statement, MRC said it was designated as project developer and owner of the solar facility, the output of which would be sold to the mall owner.
The project, costing an estimated P67.4 million, is intended for use for 20 years.
Last month, MRC said it signed a similar agreement with Edward Marcs Philippines Inc. (EMPI) for a 550-kilowatt, grid-linked rooftop project for two rice milling plants located in Northern Luzon. This pilot project for EMPI costs P34 million and set for a 20-year service.
“The signing of (this) MOA is a significant milestone for (MRC), and will kick off the pilot project of the company in its current solar PV project pipeline,” MRC said.
