In this season of giving and goodwill, Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) shows its appreciation to members of its Nuvali estate community and visitors of its commercial section by presenting once again a dazzling light and sound show.
Now on its third year, the show is ongoing until Jan. 13, 2019 at the Nuvali football field, or simply The Fields, beside Ayala Malls Solenad.
About eight 20-minute shows will be held between 6 and 10 p.m. every day.
This year’s presentation, Reimagine the Magic: A Festival of Lights, is made even more special through a partnership with The Walt Disney Company Philippines.
Mickey Mouse, the company’s most recognizable symbol, is rendered in multicolored Christmas lights and holds pride of place at the head of the field of 5,000 tulip-shaped lights dancing to a medley of popular songs from Disney movie soundtracks and a selection of classical pieces and favorite Christmas songs.
Jennifer Chua, ALI marketing manager, says the Nuvali light and sound show is probably the only Mickey Mouse-themed presentation this Christmas in the Philippines.
Both ALI and everyone’s favorite rodent are marking milestones—ALI is celebrating its 30th anniversary while the ever-youthful Mickey is 90.
The repertoire for the sound show was put together by composer and former Hong Kong Disneyland musical director Rony Fortich.
Voltaire de Jesus once again waves his magic wand to create the spectacular lights display that includes laser.
Chua says they expect the number of visitors who come for the light and sound show to grow even bigger this year. From 800,000 guests on its first year, the Nuvali light and sound presentation drew some 2.2 million people last year.
The show is open to the public and entrance is free but ALI is using the event to raise awareness and funds for the Help Educate and Rear Orphans Foundation, which was initiated by the late President Corazon C. Aquino and then Armed Forces Chief of Staff Renato de Villa. The foundation helps support the studies of children orphaned by the death of soldier parents.
John Estacio, Nuvali general manager, says through their online site, people can donate P50 to the HERO Foundation.
Aside from the light and sound show, the presentation field will also feature delicacies associated with Christmas, like bibingka and puto bumbong. The crowd favorite 50-meter light tunnel is back to enchant visitors and provide countless opportunities for selfies and groupies. —CONTRIBUTED
