Families seeking a break from their busy city life will find their much needed breathing space at Damires Hills Tierra Verde farm resort in Janiuay town in Iloilo.

This 15-hectare inland resort has been drawing families and groups, who can easily take a step back and relish nature, while enjoying its amenities, including an adventure park, infinity pool and zipline. Guests can also try the 217-meter canopy walk, go trekking, take a farm tour with fruit picking (depending on availability) or explore the farm in all-terrain vehicles.

An infinity pool is among the popular amenities of the resort.

Native fare and local delicacies also await guests at the resort’s bar and restaurant.

Damires Hills is a popular venue for team-building activities, training and seminars as one need not go far from the city to enjoy and explore the resort.

Accessibility is one of its key advantages as the resort is only 35 kilometers north of Iloilo City. For those flying in, the resort is closer to the Iloilo International Airport, about 23 km away.

By public transport, Damires Hills is less than an hour from Iloilo City. One can take a jeepney from the passenger terminal at Barangay Ungka in Jaro District (for P50) and get off at the Janiuay town proper. A tricycle can be hired to bring guests to the resort. A rented van can cost P1,500-P2,000 (for 12 persons) from the city center to Damires Hills.

Those arriving at the airport can arrange a pick up service from the resort. A van, which costs P800 to P1,000, brings guests to the resort for a 30-minute travel or less instead of going to Iloilo City.

One can choose to go on a day tour or stay for several nights.

A day trip at Damires Hills (the resort is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) costs P100 per person.

Guests availing of day trips can stay in the cottages with prices ranging from P2,500 (for eight to 10 persons) to P10,000 (for 40 persons). The rates are consumable on food and drinks.
