Recruitment Asia Returns to Manila

08:00 AM November 12, 2018

Recruitment Asia, the region’s premier conference on talent acquisition, is back in the Philippines for its second year. It will take place on November 15 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier, BGC, Taguig City. Successfully running in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong for the past three years, this event will once again gather an unparalleled lineup of recruitment superstars to share their insights into the biggest challenges and solutions through keynote presentations.

The latest trends and developments in the industry will take center stage in the discussion, including but not limited to talent market outlook, disruptive employer branding, outsourcing versus insourcing, and innovative out-of-the-box recruitment programs. Sponsored by RecruitDay, Sprout Solutions, and ictjobs.ph, Recruitment Asia 2018 is produced by Singapore- based Lighthouse Independent Media, publisher of Human Resources magazine, in partnership with its Philippine partner Learning Curve.

The conference will start off with the keynote discussion on why social media is no longer an option in employer branding. Discussing this is Pratik Sabherwal, the APAC Head of Advisory for Universum Global. He helps employers across the region in building stronger employer brands to attract, retain, and engage talent better.

Next, Francoise Berjasa, the Talent Acquisition Regional Director in The Results Companies, will explore campus recruitment and the diverse programs to attract candidates with the right qualities. She oversees Sourcing & Recruiting Operations in the Philippines while supporting the Latin America region on Recruiting Governance and the North America geo on a Sourcing perspective.

Next, Hazel Fermin, the Asst. Director for Talent Acquisition in ADP Philippines, will compare and contrast strategic sourcing vs. traditional sourcing. She brings with her about 20 years of strong Human Resources and recruitment operations experiences spanning organizations of various sizes and industries.

Then, Aileen Caravana-Gallinero, the Head of HR and Administration in Lamudi Philippines, will call attention to the one topic perplexing recruiters today: the effective empowering way to attract millennial talent. She is an experienced Human Resources practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in the eCommerce industry as well as the BPO sector.

After the lunch break, Cheryl Ruth Agsaoay, the People and Culture Center Head and Assistant Vice President of the PLDT Group, will challenge the participants into taking their employer brand digital. She drives and enables strategies geared towards delivering employee experience that engages people throughout various business transformation initiatives.

Building on this is the next topic: developing a comprehensive employee experience that attracts talent. Its speaker, Jean Tamondong-Sevilla, is the Talent Acquisition and Sourcing Manager at AXA Philippines. Prior to AXA, she also led the recruitment efforts in companies like Multiflex RNC, Asurion, and Shell.

Grace Garcia, the VP and GM-HR of the PDC Group, will point out the advantages of recruiting internally. She has more than 20 years of experience in human resources and has worked in multiple industries including fast-moving consumer goods, manufacturing, insurance, real estate, retail and consulting.

LA Cruz, the next speaker, is the HR Head of Augentius. She will elaborate on creating a successful employee referral program. She is a strategic and well-rounded Human Resource Professional with specialization in Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, HR Operations, Organization Development, Learning & Development and Executive Coaching.

The prevention of attrition through effective recruitment is the next topic that will be discussed by Oliver Requilman, the VP and Head of HR of St. Luke’s Medical Center for Davao City. He is a Certified Total Rewards Specialist from ASEAN Institute of Total Rewards, and a Certified HR Professional from International Federation of Professional Managers.

Challenges in IT and tech recruitment and how to respond to them is the topic of the next speaker, Angus Yip, the Founding Director of Vagrant (Hong Kong) Ltd. Leveraging his knowledge as a full-stack developer, expertise in ICOs, and experience as a startup entrepreneur, he actively engages in community events and conferences.

Finally, the last speaker, Aleth delas Armas, the Vice President and Recruiting & Operations Global Program Manager – HR Shared Services, for Citibank. She will showcase the importance of hiring for diversity. She has led and trained recruitment teams in Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Recruitment Asia 2018 will give opportunities for speakers and participants alike to discuss their learnings and interact with each other through breakout sessions.
