Rediscovering Boracay

Restful days await at Discovery Shores Boracay.

Our local tourism industry will surely get a big boost this weekend with the re-opening of Boracay Island after its six-month rehabilitation closure. The re-opening is probably the most awaited development in the tourism sector. Rehabilitation works are still ongoing in the famous island destination but many resorts have been granted licenses to start operation this weekend.

Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, who is also the chairperson of the Boracay Task Force, is quite confident about this monumental re-opening. He shared that visitors can expect a “new and improved” Boracay Island, where the island’s white beach is already “very clean” and safe for swimming.

The government, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and the Department of Tourism are carefully working together to identify and welcome companies with a track record of building quality and environmentally sustainable facilities in developing projects in Boracay. Boracay should focus on a master plan to sustain the quality of the island’s slew of hotels and restaurants.

Everyone is truly excited over the reopening of Boracay Island, now rehabilitated back to the tropical paradise that it should be. Just as exciting is what Discovery Shores Boracay has to offer when its doors fully open on October 30.

Once you step into their shores, you’ll be greeted with many wonderful property updates and upgrades. To start off, their Junior Suites have been renovated, now sporting a fresh, new look with cool hues for a relaxing, comfortable stay.  The restaurant outlets, Sands and Indigo, aside from having a new menu offering, also underwent a makeover. Guests will definitely enjoy the super chick yet relaxing ambiance.

Another must see (and experience) is Discovery Shore’s crown jewel, the Signature Suites. This exclusive wing offers luxurious experiences for some of the world’s discerning guests. It is made up of spacious and light-filled one bedroom, two bedroom and a presidential suite called The Grand Signature Suite—all with a private lounge pool plus breathtaking coastal and island views.

The Guest Experience Makers, fondly known as GEMs will be the passionate hosts who will elevate guests’ stays with bespoke service.  Guests are also invited to go on a culinary journey to Italy with the opening of Forno Osteria, the resort’s new all-day dining destination.

Make sure to check out Discovery Shores Boracay’s homecoming rate of P11,000 per night in a Junior Suite available until December 31, 2018. The Signature Suites introductory rate starts at P26,300 a night in a Signature One Bedroom Suite inclusive of breakfast at Forno Osteria, access to the 360 Roof Lounge, complimentary mini bar with daily replenishment and other exclusive perks that make up a truly Signature Stay.
