PSEI down

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index slipped on Tuesday as investors took money off the table amid weak sentiments across the region.

The PSEi closed the session down 0.53 percent, or 38.54 points, to 7,197.62 by the closing bell.

The broader all shares index was down 0.34 percent. Trading volume stood at 650 million with shares valued at P5.14 billion.

There were 120 decliners against 74 gainers while 40 companies closed unchanged.

Subsectors also showed a mixed bag.

Mining and oil as well as holding firms ended in positive territory.

The property subindex led losers yesterday with a decline of 1.65 percent.
