Property developer Century Properties Group (CPG) has sold the first P2 billion worth of vacation homes in Batulao Artscapes, its first residential tourism project in Nasugbu, Batangas, touted to be the world’s first livable art park.
In a statement on Friday, CPG reported that this preselling value covered 342 vacation homes in the tourism estate, which is pitched as an “artventure” community.
Launched in December 2017, Batulao Artscapes will sell 2,000 homes in the first 36 hectares of the 142-ha development.
Land development and home construction are in progress on site, with the first batch of homes scheduled for completion in early 2019.
The estate has attracted end users seeking a weekend retreat, as well as families and active retirees looking for secondary homes that are not too far from Metro Manila but are surrounded by nature and a cooler climate, said Tim Hallett, president of Century Properties Leisure and Hospitality Inc.
“This community is the first of its kind in the market. We are excited to bring something that combines art, nature and adventure into this beautiful out-of-town property. We are optimistic of the market’s continuous positive response to the project given the expanding middle class and the surge of domestic tourism,” Hallett said.
With art as the driving force behind the project, Batulao Artscapes features designer homes made by prefabricated home supplier Revolution Precrafted in collaboration with notable Filipino and international names like Ed Calma, Kenneth Cobonpue, Budji Layug and Royal Pineda, Daphne Guinness and Studio Libeskind Design.
The estate also features a host of vacation amenities, including a manmade beach and a lake with a wedding chapel.
Among the attractions that are open to the public are the sports park, flavor park and art park with a museum designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects. —DORIS DUMLAO-ABADILLA
