Rockwell’s tropical bliss
Investing in the art of living well. For a select crop of discerning clientele, investing in the residential units at the 4.7-ha Aruga Resort and Residences in Mactan—beachfront complex by Rockwell Land—is more than just buying into a property.
It’s also about investing in an unparalleled lifestyle on the lap of luxury: elegant architecture; stunning and expansive vistas of the beach and the sea; as well as sun-kissed, breezy mornings that can easily offer residents an unrivaled respite.
The Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan—Rockwell’s first residential-resort development located along Punta Engaño—is an innovative residential concept that mixes the perks of resort relaxation with Rockwell’s signature community living. The residential component of this development will offer 200 units including exquisite beachfront villas, while the hotel and resort will have around 250 rooms.
It thus comes as no surprise that this ambitious development—with its unique property layout and design—received such a warm reception from homebuyers and investors from Cebu and Manila.
Shortly after the launch in August, half of the 200 residential units on offer have already been taken up even though its price points are comparable to some of the most upscale residential projects in Makati such as the Proscenium, disclosed Katrina Kho, sales manager for Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan.

A one-bedroom unit (67 sqm) costs as much as P18 million; a two-bedroom unit (101 sqm) goes for about P38 million; while a three-bedroom (161 sqm) can go as high as P55 million.

“Our buyers are mostly from Manila and Cebu. For Cebu, (this will serve) as their secondary home or vacation home. Before we used to have public beaches but these turned into bigger developments. So the Cebuanos bought (units) for their weekend getaway. It’s near the city. (Our buyers are those who) on weekends, go to the beach or go island hopping,” she explained.
According to Kho, one of the main attractions at Aruga Mactan will be the expansive sea views from the hotel rooms and residential units. The beachfront area, once completed, is also seen to be one of the longest along this premium strip in Punta Engaño.
This P6.2-billion Rockwell development is indeed a private escape turned into a luxurious piece of real estate.
The hotel and residential areas will be seamlessly integrated, bringing the best experience for future guests and residents alike.
Complementing the relaxing atmosphere by the beach, the property’s open areas are expected to adorned by manicured gardens, keeping the area cool and energizing. Within the resort itself, one can simply take in the serene surroundings, take a refreshing dip in the pool, or explore the taste of Cebu at the resort’s floating dining hall.
Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan is Rockwell Land’s second development in Cebu. It comes four years after the upscale developer’s first foray outside Metro Manila and in this province through 32 Sanson by Rockwell in Lahug.
In 2014, 32 Sanson launched its first two towers namely Gmelina and Raffia. With the market’s positive reception of the Rockwell brand in the Queen City of the South, these two towers, which have sold out and been turned over in 2016, have residents and investors comprising Rockwell’s first growing community in Cebu.
This was followed by the launch of the property’s third tower, Buri, with a few units remaining, and will be turning over in 2019. With last year’s launch of the fourth tower, Solihiya, still receiving positive feedback, and the launch of Aruga Resort and Residences-Mactan this year, Rockwell looks forward to a continued success in the provincial market.
