The Aboitiz Foundation has offered relief worth P3.7 million to more than 3,000 families in Northern Luzon who were affected by typhoon “Ompong” (international name: Mangkhut).
On September 15, Aboitiz Group, the business unit of the foundation, allocated P3.7 million for 3,472 food packs and hygiene kits that went to Ompong victims in Benguet and Ifugao. It said it also facilitated the return of electricity in some residential and commercial establishments in Tuguegarao.
Hedcor Benguet, wholly-owned subsidiary of Aboitiz, helped in distributing 2,732 relief packs to families in the towns of Sabangan, Tuba, Baukun, Itogon, La Trinidad, and Sabian in Benguet.
Aboitiz Foundation Chief Operating Officer Maribeth Marasigan extended her sympathy to victims of Ompong, saying they would be committed in helping through relief missions.
“We gather strength from all who are committed to help in this time of need. Today, our focus is to bring comfort and relief, but rest assured that we will participate in rehabilitation efforts,” Marasigan said in a statement. /kga
