Achieving your #workspacegoals

If you are the type with tons of papers and books, shelves are a must-have in your home office.

A stack of books in one corner, a pile of old newspapers in another, and a gazillion other papers scattered all over what is supposed to be your desk. Admit it, you felt so giddy and excited to get things done when you were first fixing up your home office. Until all your accumulated clutter took over it and you just gave up on your beloved work area.

Here are some #workspacegoals that might motivate you to get your home office up and running again.

Living in a small apartment? Do not fret. You can still have that home office your heart desires. Simply pick a nook where you can fit a small desk as shown in these photos from instagram.com/@mosaic_homes. This way, you have your creative workspace while keeping the overall flow of the room. Instead of the usual cork board, hang a metal grid instead on the wall near your desk where you can keep daily reminders, put up photos and other pieces of inspiration.

Don’t be afraid to put some color in your home office.

Creatives and crafters who have an extra room at home are just the luckiest. Convert the unused room into a studio, complete with a spacious worktable. You can even turn it into a coworking place and share the space with everyone in the family. Turn one of the walls into a chalkboard for your notes, to-do lists, etc. Oyster Design Studio from Poland gave us major workspace envy with this one.

No room and no corner for a desk? Paint the wall behind your work desk in your favorite bold color to break the monotony of your living space. It may also help keep you upbeat especially during days when inspiration seems elusive.

Interior designer Jillian Carmine keeps her creations on display at her studio/home office. It’s a brilliant way to remind you of your goals and keep you inspired to create.

Shelves are your and your home office’s best friend. Modern Shelving, a company based in Southern California, offers shelving solutions for homes, offices and retail spaces. Their Instagram account, @modernshelving, has tons of designs and pegs for a more organized living space. Stash your books, papers, trinkets and other paraphernalia away in shelves to keep your desk at home clutter-free.
