Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corp. has opened in Tuguegarao City its 50th shopping mall in the country, expanding its portfolio of commercial assets with recurring income.
The three-level Robinsons Place Tuguegarao—located in Cagayan Valley’s regional center—has a gross floor area (GFA) of 60,000 square meters and 38,000 sqm of leasable space.
This is the second Robinsons Mall in this region, following Robinsons Place Santiago in Isabela, and the fourth in Northern Luzon.
“We are happy to mark our 50th mall milestone in Tuguegarao. This city is a perfect place to open a mall right now because of its vibrant economy as the central hub in the province of Cagayan,” RLC president Frederick Go said in a statement.
“We look forward to our next 50 malls. We will continue to build in new territories, in underserved markets, and in places where they can be catalysts of economic growth,” he added.
The anchor tenants of the new mall include Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Department Store, Handyman, Daiso Japan, Robinsons Appliances and Robinsons Movieworld.
Tuguegarao’s economy has shifted from agriculture to trading, commerce and services.
Situated in Barangay Tanza, RLC’s chain of essential value hotel-Go Hotels will also be annexed to the mall. Go Hotel Tuguegarao will have 136 rooms.—DORIS DUMLAO-ABADILLA
