Fertilizer prices up in June
Prices of widely used fertilizers in the country registered an increase in June, according to a report by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
In the agency’s monthly monitoring report, it showed prices for four fertilizer varieties—Urea, Complete, Ammosul and Ammophos—inched up compared to their prices last month and a year ago.
“The average dealers’ prices of the four fertilizer grades at the national level generally went up in June 2018 compared to their levels in the previous month and in June 2017,” the report read.
Urea registered the highest increase at 11 percent. In June, the price of Urea reached P1,009 per sack, higher than P896 in the same month last year.
Complete also raised its price to P1,108 per sack last month. Compared to year-ago and month-ago levels, this was higher by 0.68 percent and 0.31 percent, respectively. —KARL R. OCAMPO
