Hyundai, in partnership with the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica), delivered 130 brand new Elantra and Starex units to the Philippine National Police (PNP). The vehicles , which will be used by the PNP for its patrol operations, were turned over in a ceremony held on May 29 at Camp Karingal in Quezon City.
The ceremony was attended by PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde and Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. president and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo.
The vehicle donation was made under the six-year joint project of the Republic of Korea and the Philippines to modernize the PNP’s crime-busting capabilities.
In terms of volume, the said vehicle donation is by far the biggest made by Hyundai Motor Co. in the country.
Hari, Hyundai’s exclusive distributor in the Philippines, committed to maintain these patrol vehicles in peak fighting form.
