Davao dev’t makes for a practical investment
With a commendable peace and order situation, a more affordable cost of living compared to Metro Manila, and a healthy business climate, more companies are seeing Davao as a viable investment destination.
Add to that the fact that Mindanao’s premier agricultural and trade center boasts of a skilled labor pool, adequate infrastructure and competitive costs.
According to assistant city planning and development coordinator Roy Ryan II A. Rigor, Davao does not require anything from the companies wanting to do business here other than the latter’s compliance with the local ordinances and laws, proof that doing business in the city is hassle- and red-tape-free.
Large players in the real estate industry, in fact, have chosen to expand their presence in the province, particularly Davao City which has a total land area of 244,000 hectares.
One of the country’s trusted property developers, Sta. Lucia Land Inc. (SLLI), currently has 18 different projects spanning more than 700 hectares in the city.

With a prime location in what is known among the Davaoeños, as “Tagaytay of Davao,” Las Colinas is poised to be the perfect community for those who are looking for a peaceful sanctuary, a vacation home and a good investment.
An unobstructed panorama of Davao Gulf, scenic mountain and city views, cooler and fresh air and refreshing weather are just some of the benefits of building a home here.
In addition, the choice development is just a stone’s throw from Eden Nature Park, a mountain resort that offers quite a number of natural attractions and activities.
Residents of Las Colinas will truly have the advantage of being closest to nature.
Tuason-Magpoc sees Las Colinas as ideal especially for those who are looking for a second home just outside the city where they can engage in their hobbies. The clean mountain air in Toril, Davao, is excellent especially for leisure farming and growing plants.
Buyers can choose from estate-sized lots ranging from 500 sqm to 1,200 sqm. The residential development has a land area of 97 ha, 2.7 of which will be allotted to a man-made lake, a Las Colinas special feature.
Being a mere 45-minute drive from the city, SLLI sees to it that residents of Las Colinas will have the conveniences of everyday living right at their doorstep. A jogging path and sports facilities such as a pool and a basketball court will be built on the property for fitness and health enthusiasts.
Future residents can expect round-the-clock security, a wide and paved concrete road network and other carefully thought-out details to assure a peaceful and exclusive lifestyle.
Other SLLI developments in Davao include Alta Monte Davao, Ciudad Verde, Davao Riverfront, Las Palmas Verdes, Rancho Palos Verdes, Sun City Golf, South Pacific, Valle Verde, South Grove, Ponte Verde, Windsor Residences and Altea at Ciudades.
