8990 top housing developer in Visayas

Mass housing developer 8990 Holdings Inc. remains the top housing developer in the Visayas for the third straight year in 2017, based on Pag-IBIG loan take-out value.

8990’s branches in Visayas were able to deliver P2.4 billion in housing loan accounts to the state-controlled Home Development Mutual Fund (HMDF) or Pag-IBIG. This figure represented 43 percent of 8990’s overall HDMF take-out of P5.52 billion for 2017.

“We are extremely honored to be working with Pag-IBIG in its efforts to make sure that hardworking Filipinos are able to afford their own homes,” 8990 president and chief executive officer Willie Uy said in a statement.
The company was recognized as the developer with the highest loan take-out value in 2017 in HDMF’s Home Lending Accomplishment Report in Cebu City.

8990 began operations in Cebu in 2004. Its presence in the Visayas has since expanded to Iloilo and Bacolod. 8990 has so far completed 22 projects in Cebu and Iloilo. There are five additional ongoing projects in Cebu, Iloilo and Bacolod as of end-2017. —DORIS DUMLAO-ABADILLA
