Influential players converge in PH’s biggest expo

Worldbex, the country’s largest building and construction expo, breaks new records as it celebrates its 23rd exhibition this weekend.
Happening today until March 18 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., this year’s Worldbex is the show’s biggest instalment yet as it is held at the three mega venues of World Trade Center Metro Manila, Philippine Trade Training Center and SMX Convention Center Manila.
With all three venues combined, this year’s Worldbex encompasses a total of 37,100 sqm of show area, showcasing 1,500 booths by both domestic and foreign players in the construction sector.
Thriving ascendancy
Worldbex 2018 has noted a 25 percent increase in international exhibitors, a 12 percent increase in local exhibitors, and a 20 percent increase in total number of booths.
Signifying something far beyond mere showmanship, the expansion being undergone by Worldbex is a brimming testament of the show’s thriving ascendancy as a global force. And the same could be said about its decision to adopt the theme of “Shaping Innovations Toward Sustainability” for its 2018 instalment.
Bound to be the biggest convergence of the industry’s most influential players, Worldbex 2018 is host to 18 participating countries including Malaysia, United States, Indonesia, Australia, Turkey, Germany, Iran and Japan in its bid to strengthen the ties between the local and international sector.
Furthermore, Worldbex showcases another round of its much-anticipated event highlights that include the Architect’s Gallery, a hub that features the unique design perspectives and adaptations of the latest trends of the country’s leading practitioners.
Apart from allowing visitors a chance to avail of free consultations, the Architect’s Gallery also features the City of Tomorrow, an exhibit of futuristic scale models which embody the visions of various participating architects and design firms.
Exciting components
Another exciting component of Worldbex 2018 is the Worldbex Lab, an exhibit that features the latest and most outstanding product innovations available in the market. Also, not to be missed is the Interior Designers’ Gallery that accommodates capsule creations by Filipino interior designers who are currently revolutionizing the industry through their expertise and artistry.
This year, the Interior Designers’ Gallery also benefits from the participation of Arch. Ed Calma and IDr. Lilia de Jesus, both of whom are new additions to the gallery’s roster of icons.

Competitions
There are also friendly competitions like Delaxx—the annual landscaping competition of Worldbex, and the very first Projeto Manila—a competition for students to build any structure that answers to the current community issues.
