There are twice more Filipino women in top management positions than in most parts of the world, according to a survey of women in business.
The professional services network P&A Grant Thornton said the Philippines ranked first in its annual Women in Business report, which surveyed more than 4,500 executives in 35 countries.
The report, released in time for Women’s Day on March 8, said 46.58 percent of Filipino women in business hold top positions, nearly double the global average of 24.14 percent.
Filipino men and women enjoy same pay for the same jobs (80 percent).
“Diversity in every sense is good for businesses. It encourages different ways of thinking,” said Grant Thornton chair and CEO Marivic Españo. —Roy Stephen C. Canivel
