05:20 AM February 16, 2018

SM Prime Holdings Inc. is opening a new shopping mall in Imus, Cavite, marking its 68th retail hub in the Philippines and the sixth in the province of Cavite.

SM Center Imus, which is set to open on Friday (Feb. 16.), will add 13,000 square meters in gross floor area to the group’s portfolio.

“The opening of SM Center Imus marks another milestone for SM Prime. It is located right at the heart of Imus City to provide more convenience to the residents as well as guests of this historic city,” SM Prime president Jeffrey Lim said in a statement.

SM Center Imus will open with 90 percent of space lease-awarded to retailers.

Among the unique features is an indoor town plaza, cited as a perfect venue for concert and sporting events.

Another notable feature is Small-Medium Enterprises Popular Local Concept, where top favorite local brands will be made available.

The new mall will open with anchor brands SM Supermarket, SM Appliance Center, ACE Hardware, Miniso, Watsons and BDO.

The five other SM malls in the province are SM City Bacoor, SM City Dasmariñas, SM City Molino, SM City Rosario and SM City Trece Martires. —DORIS DUMLAO-ABADILLA
