Megaworld to open P2.2-B shopping complex in Iloilo
ILOILO CITY—A P2.2-billion state-of-the-art and “pet-friendly” mall of giant developer Megaworld Corp. will open here in April and is expected to create at least 3,500 jobs.
Kevin L. Tan, Megaworld senior vice president and head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, said in a press conference here on Monday that its first full-scale mall in the Visayas would feature among others a lot of open spaces, vertical gardens and an interactive dog park.
The three-level mall, which has a gross floor space of 90,000 square meters with 40,000 square meters in leasable space, is located at the 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park (IBP), a mixed used complex in Mandurriao District.
Tan said they expected the mall to be 75 percent occupied when it opens.
The mall is beside Richmonde Hotel Iloilo and Iloilo Convention Center.
Among the mall’s main features are seven state-of-the-art cinemas with lounge chairs, lighted tables and Dolby Atmos cinemas that offer complete surround sound technology.

The open-air and shaded interactive dog park will be located at the third level of the mall where gardens and a chapel will also be located.
The mall will have three main activity and event centers including an outdoor open-air activity center and a children’s playground. It will house government offices and medical/wellness facilities.
About 1,000 parking slots will be provided for mall clients and visitors.
“Our idea is to seamlessly connect the main mall, the annex, Festive Walk Parade and the multilevel parking facility so that everything will be walkable,” Tan said.
The 72-hectare IBP is Megaworld’s biggest investment outside of Metro Manila with total investments expected to reach P35 billion.
