GAIN’s 1st National Convention, “Are We Ready for the 4th Industrial Revolution? Preparing the Philippine Workforce” is primed to challenge existing skills standards and develop pragmatic resolutions to ensure the credibility and efficiency of employees in the workforce.
The result of a synergy of initiatives and the collaborative forum of leaders, the Government- Academe-Industry Network (GAIN) was established with the primary objective to steer, strengthen and safeguard the competitiveness of the Global Filipino.
Complex Problem Solving, People Management, Coordinating with Others, Cognitive Flexibility and Emotional Intelligence are but a few skills necessary for employees to thrive in the 21st century. Jobs and the industry are rapidly changing and are currently adopting new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Automation. Government, academe and industry sectors are expected to up-skill and retrain people to reap the full benefits of the 4th industrial revolution.
“GAIN plays an active role in opening doors for global opportunities tied up with skills development and the generation, acquisition and adoption of knowledge through innovation and technology. The collaboration between the government, academe, and industry sectors have become not only crucial, but essential to nation building,” says GAIN Chairman, Dr. Peter P. Laurel.
With over 300 delegates representing 100,000 graduates, the 1st GAIN 2018 National Convention is expected to hold panel discussions and the review of standards and resolutions essential to boosting human capital development and increasing the growth potential of the Globally Competitive Filipino Workforce.
