/ 05:30 AM January 02, 2018

The Ayala group’s Laguna Water AAA Corp. has become the first private entity in the Philippines to conduct radiological analysis for drinking water, having secured a green light from the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute.

Laguna Water, a subsidiary of Manila Water Philippine Ventures, said radiological analysis involves the monitoring of radioactivity in drinking water, thus, protecting consumers from unwarranted exposure to radiation.

Cyril A. Erica, manager of laboratory services at Laguna Water, said the granting of Radioactive Material License to the company was a significant milestone for the water industry.

Erica said the license authorizes Laguna Water to acquire, receive, posses, own and use radioactive materials necessary for radiological analysis.

Laguna Water Laboratory Services will start offering radiological analysis for drinking water in January 2018.
