Villar builds retail hub in Las Piñas‘ “Global South”

All Home in “Global South”

Property tycoon Manuel Villar has opened his 17th retail hub in the Philippines under the brand All Home, touted as the country’s first and only full-line home center, in mixed-use estate Global South in Las Piñas.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, Villar said his target would be to bring the nationwide All Home network to 28 by next year.

All Value Holdings Corp., the retail investment arm of the Villar group of companies, unveiled its latest four-in-one complex, Global South consisting of a home-and-builders center, a supermarket, a bakeshop and the group’s signature coffee shop Coffee Project.

The biggest AllHome store to date, the latest hub has roughly 20,000 square meters of selling space housing a generous selection of home solutions.

This brings AllHome’s total retail footprint nationwide 150,000 square meters.

Villar said this was in line with efforts to develop various retail brands. Building beautiful retail hubs in various estates will also enhance the value and appeal of these real estate developments, the All Value chair said.

In the future, the retail business is among those that Villar is expected to list on the local stock exchange. The expansion of the retail business also tracks the expansion of the group’s property business, which is now present in 128 cities and municipalities nationwide.

“As millennial families grow, they begin to look for bigger homes outside the hustle and bustle of central business districts,” Villar said.

The Villar group is heavily betting on the countryside for its future expansion across various businesses, capitalizing on the group’s vast landbank.

Villar explained that many young families were looking for cheaper but bigger homes outside of Metro Manila or in the provinces. However, these still require better-than-usual amenities which will be served by the Villar group’s various businesses, he said.

The Global South estate also houses the 12th branch of All Day Supermarket, which has an upscale design alongside “fresh selections, fair prices and a unique twist to fast, fresh meals to the South.”

The estate also houses the 21st branch of the fast-expanding Coffee Project, a two-year-old in-house coffee chain. Each Coffee Project is designed to be bigger and offer a more quiet leisure space compared to the typical coffee shops.
