Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) is opening today its second shopping mall in Tacloban, marking the 47th shopping mall in its nationwide commercial property portfolio.

“The economic activity in Tacloban is amazing. We have decided to open a second mall after having expanded Robinsons Place Tacloban twice in response to strong demand from Taclobanons for a place for everyone to shop, relax, and catch up with friends and family,” RLC said in a statement.

Robinsons North Tacloban has a gross floor area of about 34,000 square meters (sqm) and a gross leasable area of over 23,000 sqm, including three state-of-the-art cinemas plus one in 3D format.
This is the third Robinsons Malls to open this year following Robinsons Place Iligan, which opened in July, and Robinsons Place Naga, which opened in August.

The new mall is located across the Tacloban Bus Terminal in Abucay, the new fast- growing commercial center in Tacloban City and home to the largest fertilizer plant in Asia.

Because the bus terminal is just in front of the mall, Robinsons North Tacloban is seen to cater not just to residents of Abucay but also travelers from other parts of Leyte, Samar and even Mindanao.
