Queena Lee-Chua to launch family business book
Family businesses constitute anywhere from 80 to 90 percent of businesses in the Philippines, yet many are plagued with problems.
But family businesses can succeed despite the odds, according to expert Dr. Queena N. Lee-Chua.
Lee-Chua has been writing about family business since 2013 for the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s Business section in her column “All in the Family.”
Now, Inquirer Books—the Inquirer’s book publishing arm—is making these same secrets available with the new book “All in the Family Business,” which features the best selections from Lee-Chua’s columns from 2013 to 2016.
Read the book and find out the keys to running a good family business.
Lee-Chua discusses actual cases, from research and real life, highlighting best practices. Meet the people behind some family businesses that Lee-Chua admires and listen to her answer burning questions about family-owned or family-run enterprises.
“All in the Family Business” is your resource for the best advice on how to successfully manage and grow a family business.
“All in the Family Business” will be launched today, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. at National Book Store Glorietta 1, Makati.
The launch will feature talks from family business exemplars Xandra Ramos-Padilla of National Book Store, Catherine Tiu of Akari and Steven Cua of Welcome Supermart.
“This is a book which will teach you practical lessons on managing a business. It offers a wealth of ideas on how families can strategize to propel the business, maximize the potential of people and use socio-cultural values to deepen loyalty and ‘malasakit.’ Queena has definitely mastered the art of mixing the exact science of math to the volatility of psychology in sharing these family stories,” writes Sandy Prieto-Romualdez, president and CEO, Phil. Daily Inquirer, Inc., from her Foreword.
“All in the Family Business” by Queena N. Lee-Chua will be available exclusively at National Book Store and PowerBooks. For more information, please e-mail [email protected]
