Premier entertainment and tourism destination Resorts World Manila (RWM) unveiled on Thursday a stunning spectacle of lights in what was touted to be the “brightest and longest lighted indoor corridor in the country.”
At least 100,000 multi-colored LED bulbs were used to create the “Lumina: Walkway of Lights”, which is a lighted pedestrian walkway connecting the second level of the integrated resort’s all-suite Maxims Hotel with the upscale lifestyle hub, Newport Mall.
If the LED bulbs used were to be stretched in a straight line, these would cover approximately 10 kilometers, or the distance between RWM and Greenhills—enabling RWM to claim that its latest installation is indeed “the brightest and longest lighted indoor corridor in the country” today.
“Lumina is our newest attraction at RWM and is perfect for the holiday season,” said Martin Paz, chief integrated marketing officer of RWM.
“More than just a walkway linking two areas of the property, the spectrum of lights makes for a great eye candy and photo opportunities. It really is a sign of bright things to come,” he said.
The paved walkway—which covers a distance of 110 meters between the hotel and the mall—is a design marvel in itself, showcasing avant-garde landscapes such as lush green grass on patches of the ceiling, slanted wall panels creating a kinetic effect, and even water features in the works.

Over the next six months, new retail outlets are set to open on either side of the Lumina, effectively bringing more world-renowned brands and an enhanced shopping experience to RWM’s Newport Mall in 2018.
