Philippine GDP grew 6.9% in Q3

The gross domestic product (GDP) grew 6.9% in the third quarter, beating expectations, the government reported Thursday.

The GDP expansion during the July to September period exceeded the 6.7-percent growth in the second quarter and the 6.4 percent posted in the first quarter.

It was nonetheless slower than the 7-percent growth in the third quarter of last year.

The government targets 6.5-7.5 percent GDP growth for 2017. /cbb
