The National Economic and Development Authority has placed 31 foreign-assisted projects under close monitoring, due to possible delays in implementation or completion.
There are 18 actual problem projects and 13 that are still considered potential problem projects. Of the 18 problematic projects, around 15 are placed under Alert Level II, or the Critical stage, while three are placed under Alert Level I, or the Early Warning stage.
Documents showed that of the 15 projects under the critical stage, five projects are being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways and another two are being implemented by the Department of Agriculture. The National Irrigation Administration, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Supreme Court, Department of Transportation and Communications, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Energy, and North Luzon Railways Corp. are each implementing one project.
