PAL introduces fare scheme to help rebuild Marawi City

In support of the government’s thrust to rebuild Marawi and to help bring the displaced residents closer to home, Philippine Airlines is introducing “Rebuild Marawi fares” known as 1 peso fares.

PAL will be offering 1,000 seats at a fare of only PHP 1 (one peso) each on the routes Manila – Cagayan, Cebu — Cagayan and Davao – Cagayan for travel until December 14, 2017.

Selling period is only one day – October 28, 2017, and point of sale of this ultra- special offering is only the PAL website www.philippineairlines.com.

PAL’s love for Marawi continues via drop down fares, as follows: Manila – Cagayan for PHP 988; Cebu – Cagayan for PHP 788 and Davao – Cagayan for PHP 688. These fares are available from October 29 up to November 10, with travel dates October 29 to December 14 this year. These fares will be available in PAL ticketing offices, PAL Reservations 855-8888 and via www.philippineairlines.com. and are exclusive of government taxes, fees, ticketing service charge and surcharges.

Tickets are non-refundable and any rebooking shall be subjected to the appropriate fees and charges. The special fares include: 7-kg handcarried baggage, 10-kg free baggage allowance.

The airline is likewise offering free airlift of critical supplies and relief goods for the rebuilding of Marawi City. PAL is flying donations to Cagayan de Oro, for transport by land to Marawi City, through accredited government agencies, SEC-registered foundations, NGOs, non-profit, charitable, civic and religious organizations.

The program, which covers airlifting of donations within the Philippines only, is flying goods on space availability basis. Priority goods are urgently needed items such as medicines, ready-to-eat halal processed foods and products, mats and blankets, water purification tablets and equipment, hygiene supplies such as baby diapers and other commodities which are not readily sourced in the affected areas.

Donors may send an email to the PAL Foundation at [email protected] indicating the following details – name and contact details of donors/organizations, recipient or consignee, contents and estimate cost of donation, weight, etc. They will be given instructions on the schedule of shipment.

PAL Chairman and CEO Dr. Lucio C. Tan has launched a series of corporate social responsibility initiatives since the outbreak of war in Marawi. The taipan had offered a 40-kilogram baggage allowance to all state forces traveling on all domestic routes on “official or personal capacity” until December 31. A 20-percent discount is also available for all government troops on regular domestic fare brands, excluding budget economy.
