In response to growing requirements, taipan Andrew Tan’s Megaworld Corp. unveiled its new headquarters in a city where many of its most ambitious urban projects are also being developed.
The 30-story building on Uptown Bonifacio in Taguig, named Alliance Global Tower to align its identity with Tan’s Alliance Global Group, now serves as the head office of Megaworld, all its subsidiaries and its roughly 3,500 workers.
“Fort Bonifacio, in general, is a fantastic address, and our Uptown development is really coming into full swing,” Kevin Tan, senior vice president for Megaworld’s commercial division, told reporters on Wednesday. “Now is the best time, more than ever, to move in.”
Megaworld’s previous office was in The World Center in Makati City—its location for the last two decades.
The move to consolidate previously dispersed divisions helps with decision-making and overall efficiency, Megaworld vice president Jason Faller said on Wednesday.
Tan said the company was keen on expanding further in the area. For the 16-hectare Uptown Bonifacio alone, the company is currently building its fifth office tower, which will be connected to its Uptown Place Mall.
“There is huge demand for grade A office space here in Fort Bonifacio. We might be doing a sixth tower soon,” Tan said. Megaworld earlier committed to invest over P65 billion in Uptown Bonifacio spread over a decade.
