Collaborating to advance and prosper, the 2017 Public Relations (PR) Congress recently unveiled this year’s theme that aims to strengthen the role of PR through three key pillars: Ignite, Collide, and Unite. The much-awaited biggest PR event this year is happening from September 28 to 29 at Shangri-La The Fort in BGC.
Aptly themed, “The Boardroom: Ignite, Collide and Unite,” the 2017 PR Congress aspires to “Ignite” the role of communicators in protecting and strengthening brands; to “Collide” different perspectives in establishing the importance of research, benchmarking, and next practice sharing; and “Unite” a community of leaders and value-creators to promote synergy, harmony, and innovation.
“With this year’s PR Congress, we are pushing for an industry that stays relevant and ever evolving. But the question remains, ‘how do we take public relations to the next level in the face of diversity and emerging technology? What can we do to learn from other PR experts so we can raise the bar of our own practice?’ We want answers to these questions. And through an interactive, experiential PR Congress this year, we know we will be able to respond to these needs,” announces 2017 PR Congress chair Chito Maniago.
For this year, the PR Congress boasts of four powerful plenary sessions and 10 learning modules facilitated and conducted by over fifty thought leaders from the industry. Among the well-respected leaders joining this year’s roster of speakers are Howie Severino of GMA Network, Tina Dumlao of Inquirer, Randy Estrellado of Maynilad, Francis Flores of Jollibee, Carlo Ople of PLDT, Nina Terol of McCann Philippines, Ramon Isberto of SMART, Atty. Gina Eala of CEMEX, Blen Fernando of Alaska, Joe Zaldarriaga of MERALCO and PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar. This year’s keynote will be given by Charles Lankester, multi-awarded PR guru and EVP for Global Reputation & Risk Management of Ruder Finn Asia.
Held annually, the Public Relations Congress is the premier gathering of PR professionals hosted by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). This year, the Congress opens its doors to leaders from other fields and sectors such as marketing, human resources, government institutions, micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), among others.
“This is one of the most ambitious PR events we have organized to date, our end goal is to advance the importance of communication synergy and foster an environment of collaboration and learning,” Maniago added.
