PH peso slightly recovers; closes at 50.725:$1

The peso on Friday strengthened against the US dollar to close the week at 50.725:$1.

Last Thursday, the local currency weakened against the greenback and reversed two-day gains, sliding to 51.08:$1.

At the Philippine Dealing System, the peso reached an intraday high of 50.72:$1 and a low of 50.97:$1 after opening at 50.97:$1.

The total volume traded jumped to $973.8 million from Thursday’s $563.8 million. /jpv
