JLL, the Philippines’ leading advisor in the realm of real estate, continues to make its mark as an employer of stellar repute.
Just recently, JLL showed the world how it recognized the equality of all its employees thru the recent held first ever Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Week. Globally, JLL champions D&I as the company believes that it can grow through allowing and embracing different experiences.
Through the week-long festivities which centered around the theme of a Filipino fiesta, JLL wanted to show the world that they provide a conducive working environment where all feel welcome, valued and appreciated. In doing so, they hope to make it loud and clear that it stands proud in recognizing and respecting all individuals- no matter the gender, race, geography and generation.
Several activities for employees were held during the five-day event which sought to assure them that JLL observes and executes the best practices and that its values and policies revolve around fair play. One of the highlights was a gender forum where the topics delved into women empowerment and how being a member of the LGBT community feels like. Speakers for this forum included ASIA CEO’s Rebecca Bustamante along with Fashion Designer and Pageant Personality Bessie Besana, the latter being a JLL employee for five years. JLL Country Head Christophe Vicic also gave a talk as a JLL global citizen and shared his insights on how to work in a foreign country and how the Company can be a culturally inclusive workplace.
Christophe says: “Our mission is simple: we want JLL to be a home for everyone who is part of our family. Much like we welcome our loved ones during a fiesta and invite them to partake in whatever we have prepared, we want our Company to be as welcoming and inviting. We also want to assure our employees that no matter their age, gender or ethnicity, there is a place for you in JLL to achieve your ambitions.”
D&I Chairperson and JLL’s Regional Director & Head of Project Leasing, Sheila Lobien adds: “Our aim is to be the most diverse and inclusive employer in real estate. Towards this, we have provided a working environment where everyone can achieve their full potential, regardless of gender, race, religion or status in life. The way we conduct business is always beyond reproach. More than that, we give everyone in the company the freedom to express their individuality so they can put their skills and potential to the best use.”
JLL’s professional way of conducting business has recently earned for them the title as the World’s Most Ethical Company for the 10th Consecutive Year. The recognition comes from the Ethisphere Institute, the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices that fuel corporate character, marketplace trust and business success.
