Retailer Puregold Price Club Inc. has expanded its footprint in Visayas with the acquisition of five-store retailer B&W in Roxas City, Capiz.
With this acquisition, Puregold will have six stores in the Panay province and 11 stores in the Negros province for a total of 17 stores in Visayas region, Puregold said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
This acquisition will give Puregold – which is led by the family of retail magnate Lucio Co – a total of 307 stores nationwide.
“Puregold expects the purchase to bolster its store presence in the Western Visayas Region,” the disclosure said.
The retailer noted that in less than two decades, it had evolved from one hypermarket into developing an “omni-market” presence in its quest to “better reach the Filipino consumers anytime, anywhere.”
The retailer said it continued to “stay true to its vision to be the most customer-oriented hypermarket offering a one-stop shopping convenience and best value to its customers.”
Puregold now works with over 1,500 suppliers and trade partners, and serving over 300,000 sari-sari stores and small businesses as well as over one million loyalty card “Puregold Perks” members.
