This September, all roads will lead to Bangkok for a beauty bonanza—an event which could serve as a launchpad for Filipino businesses looking to penetrate the beauty and cosmetics market not just in Thailand, but in the whole of Southeast Asia.
Dubbed “Beyond Beauty Asean-Bangkok (BBAB) 2017,” the trade show, which was launched recently in Pasay City, will be held on Sept. 21-23 at the Challenger 3, Impact Exhibition and Convention Center.
Now on its third year, BBAB will be organized around six key segments: Beauty and cosmetics, hair and nail, herbal and health, OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and packaging, aesthetics and dermatology, and spa and wellness, the latest addition.
As the “biggest beauty trade show in the Southeast Asian region,” BBAB is expected to draw over 1,500 leading brands and over 20,000 trade visitors, said Pornnicha Meesing, sales executive of Impact Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., which is co-hosting the event together with the Federation of Thai Industries and Informa Exhibitions.
Under the beauty and cosmetics segment, visitors can expect to see the latest trends and products in skincare, personal care, makeup, color cosmetics, beauty machines and perfume and accessories.
The herbal and health segment will showcase herbal products and ingredients, natural health products, herbal extracts and health supplements.
The hair and nail segment will serve as the platform for all professional care products, equipment and solutions for hair and beauty salons, wigs and hairpieces, decorative and promotional materials, and hair and nail products.
Cosmetics companies looking to compare and source production technology and innovations are best suited under the OEM & packaging segment.
For updates on dermatological procedures such as age-defying treatments, there is the aesthetics and dermatology segment.
The newest segment, spa and wellness, will cover everything about the industry: From medical and fitness services, to spa product suppliers, and even spa educational centers.
This year, more visitors and exhibitors are expected from the Philippines, as it is the organizers’ first time to tap a local partner, the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands, to reach out to the local beauty industry.
