Dear Jason,
On Sunday, your very first Father’s Day celebration, I want to tell you how grateful I am to watch both you and Nikki so hands on and very much involved in raising Annika.
I am deeply impressed at how you enjoy and embrace the tough responsibility of being a parent and I also smiled to myself when you mentioned that you are already thinking of how to properly discipline her in the future.
Just as I have told you, there is no need to overthink and over plan parenting and how to raise a good child. Your dad and I didn’t have any manual to follow in raising you and your siblings but I believe we did alright, considering how the three of you have turned out.
You simply have to pour out an overdose of love, love, love with understanding and your constant physical presence in your child’s life—that should be enough for your daughter to mirror and absorb everything that you show her.
I am confident that she will grow up to be kind, affectionate, intelligent, creative, and most of all, she will have a strong faith in God the way we raised you. And for that, you will also be grateful.
Happy Father’s Day!
Love, Mom
